  • Where are you located?
I am located at 2 locations: The Perfect Gown in St. James close to Polo Park (Parking in front of the strip mall) Private Home Alteration Studio in Mandalay West (Parking on my front driveway or on the street)
  • How much does the wedding dress alterations cost?
Prices may vary depending on the complexity, amount of beading, intricate lace appliqué, type of fabric, boning, hem with horsehair trim, the width and the number of layers of the dress... The cost for wedding dress common alterations is in the price range from $300-$600 I provide complementary steaming after the alterations are done. If you inquire a custom project such as, adding sleeves, re-sizing gowns multiple sizes, redesign, ect. You will need a consultation appointment for pinning to see how your dress looks, discussing options and getting a precise quote. The consultation fee is $56, but it will be waived if you decide to proceed with the alterations.
  • Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes, you do! To ensure the quality of the formal fitting, I work by appointment only. For busy wedding seasons (Spring, Summer and Fall), I suggest booking in advance with a small deposit of $56 to reserve the date and to secure the booking. Your deposit will be refunded to used toward your alteration cost. If you wish to cancel your appointment, it will be non-refundable. Call 204-558-2077 during business hours, text messages are welcome anytime, or fill out the online form to book an appointment. I normally reply within a day.
  • What should I bring for the first and last fitting appointments?
At first fitting appointment: -Shoes with the height that you plan to wear with your wedding dress. -Undergarments (shape wear, sticky bra, body tape, crinoline, etc.) and anything you plan on wearing with your gown. -Accessories to be added to your gown (ie. sashes, jewel, or lace applique...). -I carry natural, push up, or custom bra cups to be sewn to your gown (for an extra fee), but keep in mind that customers who need a good supported bra or corset must have it ready to ensure the accuracy of the fitting. -I suggest bringing no more than one guest to keep the focus on the fitting. At last fitting appointment: For gowns with corsets or bustles done, I encourage you to invite your maid of honour to come with you in order to learn how to properly connect the bustle or how to lace corset backs.
  • What are turn around appointments?
My turn around time between each appointment is approximately 4-6 weeks. The ideal for the first fitting appointment is 10-16 weeks before the wedding date for the following reasons: -Allowing enough time for additional adjustments. -Major alterations or transformations that require more than 2 appointments.
  • Which methods of payment do you accept?
I accept all major credit cards (Visa, Master card, American Express, Apple Pay), Debit, and E-Transfer. A deposit of half a full amount is due at the first fitting appointment and the balance is due at the final fitting appointment.
